Khalid el-Bakraoui, one of the suicide bombers who carried out attacks in Brussels last Tuesday, used the identity card of a former Inter Milan footballer to rent an apartment, Italian media reported.
El-Bakraoui, who set off explosives at Brussels' Maelbeek metro station, reportedly travelled to Greece from Italy last summer.
Sky TG24 reported that he used identity documents belonging to Ibrahim Maarouf, a Moroccan national who played for Inter Milan, to rent an apartment.
El-Bakraoui left Venice’s Marco Polo airport for Athens on July 24th, the report said.
Salah Abdeslam, the Paris attacks suspect, is also said to have travelled to Greece via Italy during the same period.
