Migrant in coma after being attacked by football hooligan

The 36-year-old was attacked after defending his wife when the ultra allegedly called her “monkey”.

According to the initial reconstruction, the migrant, who was staying at a bishops’ seminary with his wife in Fermo, Marche, reacted to the ultra’s insults by uprooting a road-sign pole and hitting him with it.

The 35-year-old ultra, who is coected to a local football team, fell to the ground, before getting up again, grabbing the pole and attacking the migrant.

The incident happened on Via Veneto, close to the seminary. A local priest, Father Vinicio Albanesi, said the attack was possibly linked to four bombs recently planted outside churches in Fermo, Ansa reported.
